Gary H. Shahan
Gary H. Shahan, a native of Abilene, Texas, graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1973, with a B. A. degree in Government, and from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1976, with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Mr. Shahan has practiced law in Abilene, Texas, since 1976. He has been an owner of Centennial Title since 1990. From 1980 to 1990, Mr. Shahan served as a fee attorney with Taylor County Abstract and Title Company.
Currently, he is President and an Escrow Officer in Centennial Title, and a partner in the law firm of Shahan, Guevera, Decker, Arrott, P.L.L.C. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Abilene Bar Association, a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of Abilene Chamber of Commerce, and an affiliate member of the Abilene Board of Realtors and the Big Country Home Builders Association.
Charles E. Erwin
Charles E. (Chuck) Erwin, a native of Texas, graduated from Texas Christian University in 1956, with a B. S. degree in Education, and from Baylor Law School in 1958. Mr. Erwin has practiced law in Abilene, Texas, for over forty-seven years. He has been affiliated with Centennial Title Company since 1993. Currently, he is Vice-President and an Escrow Officer for Centennial Title Company, and a partner in the law firm of Shahan & Erwin, L.L.P. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, having served as Director from 1970 through 1973; a member of the Abilene Bar Association, having served as President in 1973-1974; a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation; a past Trustee of Hendrick Medical Center Foundation, 1989-2001; and an affiliate member of the Abilene Board of Realtors and the Big Country Home Builders Association.
Nicholas E. Arrott II
Nick Arrott is a Partner in the law firm of Shahan Guevara Decker Arrott and is an Escrow Officer at Centennial Title, LLC’s Abilene office. Nick is licensed to practice law in Texas and has law offices in Abilene, Texas, and Bronte, Texas. Nick’s practice is principally focused in the transactional practice areas of agriculture law, banking and finance law, business and corporate law, oil and gas law, real estate law, and trust and estate planning law. Nick handles these transactional matters for clients by providing advice and counsel, drafting all necessary documentation, and continuing with oversight of matters if needed. In addition, Nick is qualified to serve as an impartial third-party mediator in Texas for alternative dispute resolutions. Nick also assists clients with all facets of the probate and guardianship process.
Prior to attending law school, Nick was an Event Coordinator for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and for the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department at Fair Park. Prior to joining Shahan Guevara Decker Arrott, Nick practiced as an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, a large law firm located in downtown Dallas, Texas, where his practice was mainly focused on general commercial litigation, class action litigation, and antitrust and trade regulation litigation.
Nick was born in San Angelo, Texas, and grew up in Bronte, Texas, where he spent a lot of time helping his father and grandfathers on their farms and ranches. Nick enjoys being involved in the community and volunteering for local non-profit organizations, such as church and legal aid. Outside of practicing law, Nick also enjoys spending time with his family, farming and ranching, playing golf, playing basketball, snow skiing, bird hunting, and running. Nick is married to Jodie, and they have a daughter, Payton.
Ashley joined Centennial Title, LLC in June of 2013 and is currently the Title Commitment and Title Policy Coordinator, and Closing Coordinator. She also does the company marketing. Prior to joining Centennial Title, LLC, Ashley began her career in 2005 as a realtor for Coldwell Banker, Panian and Mash realtors and in 2012 she was the Commercial Teller for American State Bank. Ashley’s attention to detail and ability to organize helps her get the job done as quickly as possible.
Suzanne Davis is a native Abilenian who joined Centennial Title in March, 2012 as the Legal Assistant and Bookkeeper. She has been in the title business since 1992 and worked for various law firms in Abilene as a Legal Assistant since 1986. Most recently, she worked for Abilene Title & Guaranty for a total of 10 years with the last 5 years as a closer before becoming a stay-at-home mom with her twin daughters and managing her husband’s construction business. She is now one of our Escrow Officers getting her license in 2020. She has knowledge of all aspects of the title business and with her attention to detail and her experience, she is happy to assist with all of your title needs.
Tawnya Butterfras brings nearly 30 years of experience in the Real Estate industry to her position as Assistant Closing Coordinator. Originally from Houston, Texas, Tawnya relocated to Abilene in June of 2016 to be closer to her kids and new grandbaby. She joined Centennial Title, LLC in December of 2016. Tawnya prides herself on a strong work ethic and exceptional customer service and is eager to assist you with all your Title/Escrow needs.
Julie has been employed with Centennial Title, LLC since 2014. She is Centennial’s legal assistant and escrow bookkeeper. Julie has lived in Abilene for 22 years and has been a certified paralegal for over 20 years, receiving her certification from Hardin Simmons University.
I moved to Abilene in 2006 from Orange, Texas (Golden Triangle) where I was raised. One week after getting settled in my new home I went to work for David Dickerson Owner of Big Country Title. I worked for David for two years before coming to Centennial Title in 2009.
In 1985 I got my Real Estate License and went to work for Coldwell Banker in Orange, Texas. I always enjoyed listing property more than selling. In 1994 I went to work for Orange Savings Bank, which has since been bought by First Financial Bank. I was a Personal Banker for new accounts and relieved the front desk when needed.
From my previous jobs guess you might assume I’m a people person. I enjoy greeting, meeting and helping others.
Mack started working at Centennial Title, LLC in 2012 as the company’s Director of Transportation. Before he started his career at Centennial Title he was the Chief of Maintenance for Tommy Milliorn Realtors and a local Nursing Home. Mack proudly served 20 years in the Military. Mack’s sense of humor and friendly personality makes our customers feel welcome and excited to see him in their place of business.
Nancy joined Centennial Title after processing, closing and funding Home Equity Loans at First Financial Bank for 5 years. Prior to that she worked for 6 years in the customer service department at University Title in College Station, where her main duties were to coordinate the for sale by owner files and negotiate the release of earnest money. She is currently happily working part time.
